1967 Chevrolet
Camaro Z/28 # 27
Originally driven by Peter Pulver and Lance Pruyn
Documented History:
In 1967, Peter Pulver owned Dutchess Auto, a Chevrolet dealership, in
Millerton, New York. A customer, Lance Pruyn, wanted to order a Camaro Z/28 and race in the Trans-Am series. The car, VIN#124377N215022, light marina blue with white stripes, was delivered with full Z/28 specs and immediately prepared for racing. All required modifications were made, including installation of a roll cage and fuel cell. The car was never registered for street use. Together, Pulver and Pruyn ran 2 Tran-Am races in 1967 at Lime Rock and the Bryar 250, where the car finished 10th.
The car was sold in 1968 to Connie Lovejoy of Connecticut who had Floyd Aaskov, a mechanic at Duchess Auto, drive for her. Aaskov drove the Camaro in Trans-Am races at Lime Rock, Bridgehampton, St.Jovite, and Mid-Ohio.
Aaskov, an experienced Lotus driver finished 4th in class and 6th overall at Mid-Ohio which was an excellent result for a privateer competing against the factory teams and their professional drivers.
The car was restored in 1995 and continues to vintage race.
